The Weirdest Event on the Olympic Penninsula
Squatchcon is Port Angeles’ annual cosplay, comics, gaming, and fan culture event. Our mission is to give weirdos of all ages a place to find their passion and their people. At Squatchcon we believe in radical silliness and the world-changing power of kindness.
The Legend Begins
In 2022, Squatchcon Jess was working as the manager of One of a Kind Art Gallery at the Port Angeles Wharf.
Together with local artists Purity Milhouse and Nyx Valentine, Jess conceived of the original Squatchcon: a one-time pop up market celebrating fan culture and folklore. The goal was simple: to get a few local artists together for an oddball arts market and mini convention. We anticipated about a hundred guests would meander through: instead that first convention attracted over 2,000 people.
From there we knew what we had to do: make Squatchcon an annual event! Since 2022, Squatchcon has doubled the number of participating vendors, added tons of panel and workshop programming, hosted special guests, and wormed our wiggly way into the hearts of PNW convention goers!
Today Squatchcon includes an artisan vendor market with 60+ PNW local artists, four days of panel and workshop programming, an all-ages cosplay contest, multiple all-ages afterparty events, collaborations with 7+ venues across Port Angeles (not including our scavenger hunt locations!), live performances, gaming events, swaps, fan meetups, and more!

Sasquatch Believes in You 〰️
Squatchcon is an incubator event, meaning we specifically prioritize emerging artists and new vendors to support their growth as artists. Our vendor table fees are low and have not increased since they were initially instituted in 2023 for the first paid convention. We utilize a juried selection process ensuring that our market is diverse, exciting, and offers each vendor the best chance at success.
Student Vendor Program
Get Involved in Squatchcon
The student vendor program is the heart of Squatchcon and exemplifies what we’re all about: uplifting new artists, building confidence, and connecting cool weirdos.
The Squatchcon student vendor program officially began in 2023, inspired by the 2022 participation of then 12-year-old Evelyn H. Evelyn’s gumption gave us an idea: what if we designated a specific section of the market just for local students, offered them free table space, and connected them to mentorship opportunities?
From there, the student vendor program was born. Each year we host 10-12 Clallam and Jefferson county students at Squatchcon. These talented young artists are offered special opportunities to connect with industry experts: past mentorship experiences have included pitch reviews with Jenny Blenk, Sequim High School graduate and current Dark Horse Comics Editor!
Our event is growing fast and we need your help to keep it going! Squatchcon is currently seeking event sponsors, in-kind prize package donations, volunteers, and program hosts. Here’s a quick look at what we need most:

In-kind Prize Support
Squatchcon runs an annual all-ages cosplay contest that offers participants from age 0+ twelve opportunities to win prizes! Littlefoots (6-12)
Crypteens (13-17)
Bigfeet (18+)
