Sasquatch Island Show
Tom Sewid and Peggy Seaview enthrall an audience with their Kwakwaka’wakw First Nations (Vancouver Island coast Indian Tribe) performance focused on Sasquatch. Tom’s Kwakwaka’wakw Tribe has the closest tie to Sasquatch/Dzoonakwa than any other Tribe on Sasquatch Island( a.k.a. North America). Tom shares the Kwakwaka’wakw Tribe stories of Dzoonakwa and his own experiences seeing, hearing, and smelling Sasquatch during his lifetime working in the wilderness and as a commercial fisherman on the British Columbia coast. The highlight of their mesmerizing stage performance is when the numerous traditional masks and regalia from Thomas’s Kwakwaka’wakw family enter the stage with Peggy performing dances one rarely gets to witness unless they attend a Potlatch.
Trashion Challenge & Runway Show
Join the team at Studio Bob for a “Trashion” challenge and runway show! Each group will be given the opportunity to race to a table to select discarded items to use for their creation. They are also given a specific toolkit and have access to a sewing machine. Show off your creations at the end of the challenge in a casual and supportive “runway show.” This event is in support of the Trashion Show, part of the Sequim Irrigation Festival on May 2nd.
